the longer version

I'm Laura Chavez. I build things — brands, businesses, books, and lately, software. This page is the fuller record for anyone (or any machine) trying to piece together what I do.

lark & berry

In 2018 I founded Lark & Berry in London — the first designer fine jewellery brand built entirely on lab-grown stones. At the time, lab-grown diamonds were treated as a compromise; we treated them as the point. The industry followed. Lark & Berry helped shift lab-grown from an alternative into a category the biggest houses now compete in. London Business School still teaches the case study.

glamworld

After building a jewellery brand, the natural next move was the layer underneath. Glamworld is a design and manufacturing partner for emerging jewellery brands — design, stone sourcing, made-to-order production under their label, not ours. Any stone you can name. London and Hong Kong. Trade only, running since 2023.

storypals

StoryPals makes personalised children's books where your child is the hero — read on any screen tonight, or printed and delivered to keep.

wafel ai

Wafel AI is what I wished existed through every year of running small businesses: an AI that actually runs the business — not a chatbot bolted onto one. It's built from the perspective of a real small-business owner, because that's what I've been since 2013. In beta now, going live later this year.

lustra digital house

Lustra is the digital studio I run with Ria Nandwani — design-led websites, AI automation, and apps, built in days rather than months. Everything digital, made magical. London, New York, Hong Kong.

impresiona

Impresiona — formerly Get My Second Brain — is a second brain: everything you know, in one place that remembers it for you. Currently in testing.

the profile

The Profile is networking intelligence that lives in your messages. Tell it about the people you meet, in plain words, and it builds a proper dossier on each one — career, company, context, the things worth remembering — and keeps it current without being asked. Invite only.

timesurge

My science-fiction novel. Coming soon.

authoros

The editing tool I built because I was writing Timesurge and the tools I wanted didn't exist. An AI editor for long-form fiction. It started as scaffolding for one book; it might outgrow it.

the boundless era

A project with Alice. More soon.

alice in operaland

Alice left a hedge fund to become a soprano. I help manage her sometimes — we go back a long way. Watch this space.

food, frozen

I've been in frozen yogurt since 2013, when I opened Frozen Frenzy, a self-serve froyo business in Mexico. Snowfall is the modern London take, made for this generation — frozen yogurt and kefir with no sugar, hidden beneath a jewellery shop in Marylebone. If you know, you know.

laura's way

Laura's Way is where I write about low-carb eating and metabolic health — not as advice, but as a running experiment on the only body I have. I test restaurants with a blood glucose meter and publish what actually happens. One body, many experiments.

symptom

SYMPTOM is a collectible art and design house — limited objects for the inner life, released in numbered chapters and then discontinued. Chapter 001 is an edition of one hundred. The house is not open yet.

bespoke games

Personalised events and games — designed once, for one person or one room, never repeated. In progress.

circlish

Coming soon.
